Setting up shop!

Well my sister has done it - she set up the Fabric-by-the-Yard website with a link to purchase things on etsy for now. I'm really excited to get things up and running, since I've been so busy selling since Thanksgiving! Orders are slowing down a bit now because everyone is shopping for gifts, not fabric.

I placed an Amy Butler home decor fabric order this morning and I ordered some chocolate lollipop from Anna Maria Horner, so hopefully all that will come before the end of the year. Also, I received a brand new bolt of my FAVORITE fabric yesterday from Alexander Henry - Mocca. LOVE IT. I wish it was edible! :)

I'm getting lots of positive feedback on my packaging, which is just fabulous! The sets of fabric have been referred to as little 'gifts in the mail'. I'm working on getting all my labels, packaging, ribbon and shipping materials all organized and ordered so that I can start the new year with a bang. I'm planning on setting up a shop on eBay too, so hopefully that will keep me busy with many orders a day.

I can't wait until Amy Butler's new line is available in March 2008.

Selling!

Well I can't believe it, but in the last two weeks I've sold 25 listings on Etsy! It's been a challenge learning all the ins and outs of shipping; in the US, Canada, and the UK - but it's worth it! Like my sister, I'm hoping to sell to all 50 states! So far I think I have California, NY, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas.

Well one of my favorite designers is coming out with a new line of home decor fabrics and I can't wait to share it with you! Anna Maria Horner of Chocolate Lollipop fame will be introducing her new line, "Drawing Room" at the beginning of 2008. Check back often to view and purchase the new 2008 fabrics as I receive them!

This is so fun!

Well I'm addicted! I love selling on Etsy and learning about who is buying my fabric! Today I found out that a fellow Seattlelite is purchasing from me. How fun!

Last night we got our first snowfall of the winter here. It didn't last long downtown (I live on lower Queen Anne for those of you familiar with Seattle) but it was just beautiful! I love it when it snows because the city immediately slows down and becomes....quiet. Of course it turned to rain shortly after, but it was nice while it lasted! My 2 cats (Sid and Bailey) were perplexed by the white flakes, but not enough to rouse them from their slumber long enough to venture out on the deck!
